■ What is the Digital Currency Forum

The “Digital Currency Forum,” organized by DeCurret Co., Ltd. (DCP), serves as the secretariat and brings together over 100 companies, banks, local governments, organizations, experts, and observers from a wide range of sectors including finance, retail, transportation, information and communications, electricity, trading companies, local governments, ICT, railways, and manufacturing. Related ministries and the central bank also participate in this initiative to examine the practical use of digital currency in Japan.

Our company is a consulting firm and think tank based in regional areas where various social issues have become apparent. Our members possess expertise in diverse fields and combine their knowledge and experience to engage in regional revitalization and regeneration efforts both domestically and internationally. While closely understanding the challenges and problems faced by local areas, we continue to provide hands-on support aimed at proposing and realizing fundamental and sustainable solutions. Although cashless payments have been gradually spreading in regional areas in recent years, we feel that they are mostly recognized only as an increase in payment options. Genuine cashless payments utilize a “system” called digital currency to offer opportunities for various transformations such as enhancing resident services, streamlining administrative work, and establishing data-driven practices in local industries.

Through our participation in the “Digital Currency Forum,” we will promote the awareness and practical use of digital currency, as well as efforts to expand its adoption in regional areas.
