[Overview]

On January 30 and 31, 2024, we conducted lectures on smart agriculture and agricultural DX for students of the Shimane Prefectural Agriculture and Forestry College and prospective new farmers as part of the “Special Intensive Course” (FY 2023 Agricultural Manager Training Program).

[Support Details]

On the first day, after an introductory lecture on smart agriculture and agricultural DX, we conducted a workshop focused not on technology introduction for its own sake but on adopting technology to solve issues. Specifically, participants selected processes to be streamlined based on cultivation time, then evaluated the cost-effectiveness of the technology to be introduced to consider its benefits.

On the second day, since it was the final lecture of the special intensive course that started last June, participants engaged in a workshop imagining Shimane Prefecture’s future several decades from now and had the opportunity to present their visions for the agriculture they aim for, sharing their aspirations for the future.

The adoption rate of smart agriculture technology is increasing year by year, and there is a growing demand for human resources who can effectively utilize these technologies.
