Starting in May 2022, support has been provided to various regions in Hiroshima Prefecture, particularly those with mountainous areas. This includes identifying challenges in these regions, matching solutions, and supporting model development, with the aim of creating “vibrant mountainous regions,” as outlined by the prefecture. The support includes continuous assistance in addressing the region’s issues.

– Identifying true issues through fieldwork based on the principle of “San-gen Shugi” (three realities: site, actual items, and reality) ※ San-gen Shugi: Focusing on the three “realities”—site, actual items, and reality. – Approaching the root causes of barriers to digital technology adoption and structural issues – Setting challenges tailored to the unique circumstances of each region, using optimal frameworks – Creating a cycle of efficient proposals and implementations while simultaneously building leading examples

【Outcomes/Results】

Providing opportunities to acquire both the “ability to identify effective digital technologies” and the “know-how to utilize them from implementation to operation and evaluation.” The focus is on implementing measures that will enable local governments to operate independently after the project’s completion, with a forecast for “expansion support” in the following years. Support is ongoing.
